To lose to the 40-whiners of all teams. It makes my heart hurt.
I have never in my life cheered for them, and I lived in Northern California for 20 years.
Last year when my husband and I went to see the Saints at 49ers they seriously threatened my husband and tried to fight him because I was wearing my Saints gear.
It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a game because of all the fans. And it wasn’t one, or two or three groups that were jerks. I’m sorry, the Saints are never in San Francisco! I just paid beaucoup bucks to be here, which goes to your team, let me watch my damn game in peace!
As a Kings fan, I hated all the Laker fans that were at games I went to, but I still have respect them for wanting to see their team.
I have been to my share of games in 3+ years a journalist and that was by far one of the worst displays and sportsmanship I have ever seen and I’ve seen quite a bit. Usually high school parents have nothing on the pro fans.
And as my team has lost, and the 49ers have moved on, I’m getting facebook comments gloating and teasing and sheer rudeness. It’s unnecessary really, I watched the game, I know what happened.
The 49ers have been flat out embarrassing the last seven years. It’s been pretty pathetic after the greatness Joe Montana and Steve Young brought to the franchise. It’d be nice for them to have a small glimmer of hope but that doesn’t make me like them anymore.
Who is left for me to cheer for this season, there are a lot of teams left in the playoffs I just don’t like. I will be cheering for whoever is playing against the 9ers and against Green Bay. And man my life will suck if the two teams play each other. At least I might be able to enjoy the Super Bowl, cheering against one of them. Not that I believe the 49ers can beat Green Bay.
I’m going to go lick my wounds and watch the Pats do work on the Broncos. Although I want Denver to win this game.
